Ultrasound Guided PRP

Ultrasound-Guided PRP Injections

Precision Treatment for Joint & Tendon Pain

We now offer ultrasound-guided PRP injections for patients who want a more targeted approach to their treatment.

Using live ultrasound imaging, your doctor can see the exact structure being treated whether it’s a tendon, ligament, joint, or soft tissue injury and guide the injection directly to the area of concern. This allows for precise placement of the PRP, particularly in deeper or more complex areas.

How it Works

Ultrasound uses safe sound waves to create a real-time image of muscles, tendons, ligaments and joints during the procedure. This means your doctor can:

• Identify the exact site of injury or degeneration
• Avoid nearby nerves and blood vessels
• Guide the needle accurately to the intended tissue
• Confirm correct placement before delivering the PRP

For many patients, this adds an extra level of confidence and precision.

What Can Be Treated?

Ultrasound-guided PRP is commonly used for:

• Tennis elbow and golfer’s elbow
• Achilles and patellar tendon injuries
• Shoulder tendon pain and rotator cuff problems
• Knee osteoarthritis
• Plantar fasciitis
• Hip and other joint pain
• Sports-related muscle and tendon injuries

It is increasingly used by active individuals, tradies, gym-goers, and athletes looking to support recovery and stay moving.

While not every condition requires ultrasound guidance, your doctor can advise whether it may be beneficial in your case.

If you’re interested in learning more about whether ultrasound-guided PRP is right for you, book a consultation to discuss your options.

Cost Each treatment is priced at $400 with a fee of $50 for each additional joint. We recommend booking an initial consultation with us to allow our doctor to access your condition and discuss treatment options in further detail.

After your treatment

Following the first PRP treatment, you will be provided with exercises and advice specific to your injury/problem area. We suggest undergoing a rehabilitation program designed by one of our physiotherapists or your regular therapist. This can be organised through any of our clinics.

Improvement will be a gradual process over the days to weeks following your treatment.
